The new business center "Arka" in Kaunas has a high energy-efficiency class (A+), stands out with architectural form and non-standard structural solutions. All these features describe projects that Peikko's products are used in.
One of the engineering solutions chosen in the project is MODIX® Rebar Coupler, which was used for foundation and column joints. Considering that, unlike the usual, the column was triangular, it was necessary to reconsider its connection with the foundations.
During the first phase, the modules of Peikko MODIX® with internal threaded couplings were installed. When assembling on the foundation pillars, MODIX® joints with external threads were screwed into them, forming a continuous reinforcement of the foundation and pillar joints. The visual tightening control system for this fixture connection solution made it easy to mount installation without the use of dynamometers.
Peikko PSB® Punching Reinforcement system was used for the decks of the business center "Arka". It is simple and reliable solution against punching shear failure and shear failure of slabs, foundations, walls and beams by increasing their resistance.
